High School Recruitment Campaign Continues in Full Swing
It has been one year since the launch of the High School Recruitment Campaign and sponsorship program. In this year, we have obtained sponsors for over 600 high schools across the country, proving information for students at these schools about careers in masonry. Just recently, we received sponsors for all the schools in Oregon and Maryland. This makes 19 states covered!
However, we still need sponsors for the following states: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. If your state is on this list, lets work together to get it off! Some of these states only need one or two more sponsors!
The feedback from students and educators about this program has been terrific, and this is just the beginning. With the new school year starting in late August, MCAA will be contacting all enrolled high schools, and scheduling Career Day presentations. The personal contact from contractors with the students and administrators will be the next step in our multi-year campaign, and likely the most effective and important. As requests come in, Melissa Polivka will be looking for volunteers to conduct these presentations, so you might be hearing from her!
