Lafarge Cement Names New President for Northeast Region

Lafarge North America has named Claude Bastien as President of the Northeast Region for the Cement Division. He previously served as President of Lafarge Construction Materials for the Eastern U.S. Region.Bastien will be based in the regional headquarters in Montr?al, Qu?bec, where he will oversee the production, sale and distribution of cement, slag and fly ash in the Northeast Region. It includes the Canadian provinces of Qu?bec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as 11 U.S. states, including New England and mid-Atlantic states as far south as Virginia. He will also be responsible for the region's four cement plants, located in St-Constant, Qu?bec; Ravena, N.Y.; Whitehall, Pa.; and Brookfield, Nova Scotia; as well as Lafarge's slag cement manufacturing facility at Sparrows Point, Md.
