MCAA/OSHA Alliance Update
As many of you know, the MCAA have a National Alliance with the Occupational safety and Health Administration, OSHA. In the past year through this Alliance, OSHA has participated in our Masonry Showcase, taught safety classes at the Show for 10-hr Certification, and MCAA has participated in two OSHA Construction Roundtables: Designing for Safety and Construction Fall Protection.
In the upcoming year, the Alliance will continue to thrive as OSHA will be writing articles for Masonry Magazine, partnering with the MCAA on training seminars that will train OSHA officials on the best practices of masonry construction, and allowing the MCAA to participate in the development of OSHA educational materials as it pertains to our trade.
These are exciting times for MCAA, as our influence within the ranks of OSHA are growing. If you wish to participate, now is the time to join the MCAA Safety Committee. Contact Rashod R. Johnson, MCAA's Director of Engineering for more information.
