Each state hopes requiring the course will reduce the number of construction related injuries and fatalities among construction workers.
This course was designed for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors, and anyone involved in the construction industry. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of the job. Topics covered in the course include fall protection, personal protective equipment, scaffold safety, fire protection, and more.
Mason contractors in the affected states can fulfill their requirement through the Mason Contractors Association of America. The MCAA offers the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program online course through its website for the new low price of $99.00. Taking the course will also allow contractors to earn ten credits towards their Masonry Certification.

OSHA construction safety course now mandatory

The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program is now required in seven states including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island.
