Each year, the Mason Contractors Association of America presents the C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to an individual who has provided exemplary leadership in advancing the masonry industry. All of the individuals who have received this prestigious award have demonstrated a tireless dedication to our industry through years of volunteer support and hard work. They have helped to ensure that our industry remains vital for the nearly 500,000 people employed through masonry.
MCAA President Tom Daniel presented the 2010 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Bill Holden during the MCAA Closing Banquet at the 2010 MCAA Convention in Las Vegas, Nev.
“The individual that we honor here today has served our industry in a variety of different capacities and is one of the very few to receive this award who has done a majority of his work outside of the MCAA.”
Bill Holden has been a very active volunteer over the past eight years in the National Concrete Masonry Association, serving on their Board of Directors since 2004 and previously serving as chairman of their marketing committee. Most recently he completed his service as their Chairman of the Board and continues to serve them in the capacity of Past Chairman.
Holden also serves as the President of Block USA, based in Birmingham, Ala., and has transformed their operations to include over 20 different block and hardscape plants located throughout the Southern U.S. His work with the MCAA in the development of Vision 2020 has been integral to the implementation of this new program. He is admired for his no nonsense “let’s get it done” attitude.
“It is my honor and pleasure to present the 2010 C. DeWitt Brown Leadman Award to Bill Holden,” said Daniel.
