Living Outdoors

For the record

By Jennifer Morrell

You know by now that putting your skills to work in the hardscaping arena can bring extra cash and open doors for future business as we muddle through another tough economic year. That’s probably your favorite aspect of hardscapes. Or, is it that you love a bricked patio with an outdoor kitchen and cozy fire pit on a cool fall night? Either way, the craft of hardscaping does not go unrewarded financially or aesthetically. In this issue, we look at several hardscaping case studies to learn from others how masonry outdoors can pay off, from retaining wall projects to erosion preventative work. You will also learn how a company fills a need for the perfect hardscaping saws and blades, from start to finish. And, as you know, pavers are one of masonry’s hidden gems. Learn how segmental paving can be a recession fixer.

The Masonry staff will be attending Green Build in Chicago next month, and I encourage you to contact me if you will be attending. I’d love to meet you and talk shop!
